Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Staff
This course is aimed at those staff who have responsibility for managing the provision of respiratory protective equipment and/or conducting fit testing in their department. It will provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills to become a competent fit test operator as set out in HSE document, HSE 282/28.
Where face masks (respiratory protective equipment) are used as a control measure against airborne contaminants, they must fit the wearer correctly to be effective. Conducting "fit tests" ensures that the face mask selected matches the wearer's facial features and seals adequately to their face. Not achieving a good fit reduces the protection provided by the mask which can ultimately increase the risk of immediate or long term ill health conditions due to exposure to hazardous substances.

NoneCANCELLATION
We want our training sessions to run at full capacity to ensure value for money and to get the most from group interactions and discussions. Cancelling attendance at a course should only be done as a last resort (some of our sessions are delivered by external training providers and we would incur a high fee if we need to cancel sessions based on low numbers). Demand is high for our training sessions with many having a waiting list and when a booking is made, others are turned away on the strength of that booking. If you have to cancel a training session we would appreciate as much notice as possible (at least 48 hours), and this can be done via the "Go To My Bookings" link.
