Target Audience: First Year Postgraduate Research Students
Run over two half days, this University-wide session will be opened by our Principal and provides a welcome to Strathclyde, to Strathclyde Doctoral School and to your journey as a postgraduate researcher.
Topics covered include
- expectations and requirements
- student and supervisor perspectives
- PGR community, PGR groups and how to get involved
- the range of available support and resources
It is also a chance to ask questions and 'talk' to your peers. Feel free to ask questions in advance via email (researcher.development@strath.ac.uk)
The event will be held on Zoom - the link will be sent in advance of the session in an outlook meeting invite. Feel free to use the chat funtion in zoom to ask questions on the day.

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).
You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).
Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
