Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Staff
Recommended for staff involved in medium to high risk manual handling activities, either on a regular or occasional basis e.g. Technical staff, Trades staff etc. It is also suitable for those who require refresher training, which is recommended every 3 years.
Participation on this course is recommended in order that departments can demonstrate best practice with regard to the provision of information and training for their staff. This will, in turn, help to reduce manual handing risks and enable departments to comply with manual handling legislation.
The course generally runs from 9:00 till 1:00 with a tea break inbetween.
Aim of Training:
- To raise awareness of good back care
- To provide knowledge of the risks associated with manual handling
- To demonstrate ergonomic techniques for safe handling
- To provide skills to ensure that risk control strategies are appropriate

NoneCANCELLATION
We want our training sessions to run at full capacity to ensure value for money and to get the most from group interactions and discussions. Cancelling attendance at a course should only be done as a last resort (some of our sessions are delivered by external training providers and we would incur a high fee if we need to cancel sessions based on low numbers). Demand is high for our training sessions with many having a waiting list and when a booking is made, others are turned away on the strength of that booking. If you have to cancel a training session we would appreciate as much notice as possible (at least 48 hours), and this can be done via the "Go To My Bookings" link.
