Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: PGR Students
After all, this is, arguably, the most important professional relationship you will have in your research programme and yet it’s remarkable how little time we spend discussing its purpose, goals, pressures, ways of working and all that ongoing stuff that could make it go along relatively smoothly. On the other hand, if we don’t talk about that process, it can easily slide into a tokenistic, or semi-dependant relationship that doesn’t serve either party as well as it might. Ironic, isn’t it?
This workshop is dedicated to this fundamental relationship and being able to work with it clearly, openly and while maintaining realistic levels of effectiveness. In this confidential workshop, you’ll:
• Understand the different parties’ perspectives on the supervisory relationship
• Explore practical tools for enhancing the efficacy of the relationship
• Consider strategies for clear and effective communication
• Understand the dynamic nature of the relationship and different parties’ requirements
• Explore how to keep the supervisory relationship effective, even in challenging time
