Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: LIR staff
Join us for this virtual visit in which Sally McIntosh, Lead Librarian for Collections and Research will explain how the staff of the Robertson Trust Library at the University of the West of Scotland took advantage of estates projects to do some collection reorganisation.
Whilst the campus was reasonably quiet this summer, the estates team decided to carry out some small-scale refurbishments, such as carpet replacement, partition wall removal and cleaning of beams and ceiling panels.
To create space for these projects to go ahead, library stock and shelving had to be moved. As this needed to be done anyway we decided to incorporate a number of long-standing reorganisation projects including reordering stock, ensuring shelf spacing was DDA compliant and preparing stock for new services including an ongoing click-and-collect service for a new stored collection and an article scanning service for back-runs of print journals.
Hear about how we integrated the projects together, where we are now, and our next steps.
