The video conferencing platform, Zoom, is a powerful interactive conferencing tool that can be used for meetings or webinars. Zoom also facilitates in-app instant messaging that can be used to chat with colleagues and other contacts. Zoom can be accessed from its Strath web platform or the Zoom App that is highly recommended to be installed on your device. The booking process can be facilitated from either end, or from Microsoft Outlook if you have the plugin installed. For lectures, sessions can also be booked from Myplace, as the recommended practice. In this session we demystify the Zoom service, its features, and the booking process.
The topics we cover are:
- Zoom profile access from the web browser.
- Web platform’s menu and settings.
- Zoom client menu and settings.
- Booking a meeting over the web, the client, Myplace, Outlook.
- Booking and hosting a webinar.
The booking setup is tailored for booking internal or external meetings, lectures, tutorials, and workshops in the SBS context. This session focuses on the needs of the audience.
