This course covers;

What is negotiation? How do the worlds of business and industry differ from academia and research? Different negotiation approaches and stages of negotiations. Persuading, influencing and networking. Power in negotiations. Building sustainable relationships in business and industry. Negotiating across different contexts and cultures and Negotiating as a team.  Lastly, how to put it all into practice including exchanging contracts etc.

The main objectives are to be able to seek and develop contacts and relationships with business and industry with a view to progressing enterprise and business relationships.  Understanding the different worlds of academic and business are key as well as seeing the possible synergies.  Commercial understanding will also be explored.
