Developed by Elsevier, Scopus is one of the world’s largest curated abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed literature, including 25.300+ scientific journals, 231.000+ books and conference proceedings from >5.000 publishers, covering research topics across all scientific and technical disciplines, ranging from medicine and social sciences to arts and humanities. A live demonstration will show how Scopus can be used and some of the key benefits of its use.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • Use advanced search to conduct in-depth literature searches for literature reviews or to find relevant information
  • Analyse and track research trends to make connections within or across disciplines and identify new research areas and potential collaborators
  • See the main journals and most prolific authors in your area of interest informing your own decisions about where to submit manuscripts for publication
  • Use bibliometrics to measure research output and discover the overall impact of publications in a research area
  • Find resources of further help if problems are encountered
