Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Postgraduate Research Students, Early Career Researchers
This workshop is designed to give participants an overview of the fundamentals of intellectual property (IP) ownership and the University’s commercialisation process, providing the opportunity to ask questions relevant to their own commercial aspirations. It will cover the University's Key Performance Indicators relating to Knowledge Exchange; key messages on protection, disclosure and ownership of IP and the role of Research and Knowledge Exchange Services.
Participants will then learn the basics of building a viable business model. Using their own research as inspiration, participants will create a tangible, visual document that maps key points such as: customer segment, channels, customer relationships, unique value proposition, revenue stream, cost structure, key activities, key resources and key partnerships.
